Overview

Golden Plus One Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Taman Bukit Indah 2, Johor Bahru, offers a vibrant culinary experience that brings together diverse flavors rooted in local and regional traditions. Located at 19, Jalan Indah 22/2, this restaurant stands as a popular choice for those seeking authentic Malaysian and roadside delicacies in a casual setting.

The space itself combines the lively atmosphere of a bustling coffee shop with the convenience of numerous food stalls nearby. Diners can enjoy bright, clean seating indoors, which contrasts with the crowded but energetic outdoor area. This setting caters well to families, friends, and night market visitors who want to indulge in a variety of dishes under one roof.

Golden Plus One shines with its menu highlights, which weave together unique textures and tastes. The Bitter Noodle Bee Hoon Soup and the signature Lei Cha embody comforting flavors, combining bitter and herbal notes that are both refreshing and nourishing. The steamed chicken rice and Kolo Mee showcase the Malaysian-Chinese culinary heritage with perfectly balanced seasoning and texture.

For those who favor local street food culture, the “oppa 经济米粉面炸鸡椰浆饭 夜市” dishes, the fragrant Thai pork, and the crispy fried you tiao served with rojak sauce offer a dynamic tasting adventure. These plates reflect a blend of sweet, sour, and savory elements that are hallmarks of the region’s vibrant food scene. Customers often praise the char kway teow enhanced with preserved radish, adding a depth of umami seldom found elsewhere.

The restaurant’s charm also lies in its ability to accommodate a diverse crowd, from vegetarian diners enjoying the best Lei Cha to night market regulars seeking a place to rest and refill. However, some customers note minor issues with outdoor seating and drain sights, suggesting room for improvement in managing the surrounding stalls’ cleanliness to enhance the overall dining experience.

In essence, Golden Plus One Restaurant delivers a compelling taste of Johor Bahru’s street-side culinary treasures with a comfortable indoor space and an extensive menu that caters to both locals and visitors. It’s well suited for those who appreciate rich, layered flavors across a broad spectrum of Malaysian and neighboring cuisines.

Quite a good number of stalls here. Love the char kway tiao by the uncle! Very interesting as he adds chay poh into it. Very delicious. The 小吃 is very good, we had 2 dishes, one is the lettuce , and the other is the pork ribs with salted eggs. Both are truly yummy. The rojak is very yummy too, the you tiao is fried first... Very crispy. The trouble with some tables outside is there's a drain and some stall owners nearby will just pour their unwanted waters into the drain. So quite a sight. Make sure you didn't sit too near to that as they probably won't check if the water will splash onto the customers. In that situation, it's not recommended and would recommend the place to educate the stall owners to handle the unwanted water properly... It is quite put off. Pretty crowded for evenings.

Actually inside the coffeeshop is quite pleasant to sit although outside may seem a bit overwhelming by the number of stalls surrounding it. Foods are can-eat-lah.

Lots of variety of food. We came here for dinner and it was next to the regular Wednesday Bukit Indah 2 Pasar Malam. Coffeehouse was nice to let us consume the snacks we bought at the night market. Of course, we also ordered plenty of food from the coffee house as well as drinks too!
